Actually that was never an episode; the closest episodes I can think of with that plot are: Sister Mask (where Pretorious creates a fake mask that Stanley thinks will make The Mask act good) and Split Personality (where The Mask splits in half and an old high school bully who harassed Stanley has one of the halves).

It lasted three seasons (14 epiodes in season one; 15 if you count The Mask is Greener on the Other Side as two separate episodes; 30 eps in season 2; and nine in season 3). Peggy is more like Lois Lane than her live-action counterpart in the movie. Unlike the cartoon, the movie Peggy doesn't even write weird tabloid stories and her paper is actually called "The Evening Star" not "Just The Facts Really". Just one of the many differences between the Jim Carrey movie and the animated series, such as no Cameroin Diaz and Mayor Tilton being a recurring character. Tilton only appeared in the movie two minutes.

Peggy being in The Mask cartoon reminds me of another fantasy comedy that got turn into an animated series, "Ghostbusters". Sigorvery Weaver wasn't in any of the Ghostbusters cartoons yet Janine the secretary had a bigger role in all of them. Rumour has it that they were about to make a "Mask" sequel with both Jim Carrey and Amy Yasbeck (movie Peggy) until Jim turned it down while "Son Of The Mask" was unfortunately greenlighted by New Line Studios.

Interesting story about Peggy is that in the movie they made her seem like a 2nd love interest for Stanley but she ended up double-crossing him and was supposed to have been killed off by Dorian in a deleted scene, so Stanley ends up with the girl you didn't think was right for him which was Tina. So since Peggy didn't get killed she was able to appear on the show but for some reason Tina doesn't.

This alternative opening is new to me. I always saw the Mask opening credit where they used clips from episodes and that jazzy theme song (the tune is from "Hey Pachuco" the same song that Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz danced to in the Mask movie).

Well, this one only aired on local stations. The CBS and Cartoon Network airings of The Mask have the opening from season 1 and the opening from season three (which is like the season 1 opening, but the music's slightly different).

Let's see: it came out in 1998, so it's ten years old. And unless that DVD has episodes on it like "Love Hurts" and "Blind Date of Frankenstein", you got screwed. The DVD/video of Toonsylvania only has a few episodes that aired on FOX, not the entire series.
