This reminds me so much of my father, who died in 1994. My father taught me guitar chords when I was almost too small to even hold a guitar. The strings hurt my fingers, and I struggled so much to hold them down next to the frets. We used to watch the Glen Campbell show together. I will never be able to hear this song without shedding a tear. Jimmy Webb was an amazing songwriter. Thank you for posting this. It never fails to move me. (A REPEAT POST, DUE TO A STALKER)

Outstanding song. Glen Campbell was no overnight sensation though, he was already a seasoned veteran on the music scene by the time this was recorded. Prior to this he played in the Wrecking Crew, Hal Blaine's studio band. If you're not familiar with Blaine do a search & check out the unbelievable body of work that Hal and his all star lineup did, you'll be amazed.

Too many people (hi Heather) do not realize he is in that group that includes Jerry Reed and Roy Clark, and today Brad Paisley: great singers who are also known to their fans as fantastic guitarists. Hell yeah. In fact, George Lucas was like a "disciple" of Campbell, having spoken with him and learned much of what he knows about myth. I'd say the prequels can also constitute as the "hero quest" for Anakin Skywalker, and the original trilogy is like the "belly of the whale" for him, in which Anakin is trapped, until the very end when he breaks free and conquers his enemy, much like how Christ broke free of the tomb and conquered death.

West hears some of the world's great art and it appeals to him, and he uses it to express himself because other people's art is part of his experience. I just feel that a story that's arbitrarily designed to be emotionally effective to an audience in certain ways is kind of pretentious and hollow. Art should be more than a partly creative application of science. And though going on inspiration alone is really tough, and there would be alot less decent quallity art to fill the world coming from high-production half inspired artists, anyone who does excessively cheat their way through the process of inspiration is worthy of only modest praise.

it should be more inspiring because it gives you more tools to make better art. you can try to make art without any skills, but a list or map of tried and tested rules should not be sniffed at. at some point you may have writers block or people who don't appreciate what you are trying, these lessons could help.

One great athlete and one great human being. So classy. No show off dancing in the end zone just did his job set the ball down and return to the sideline until needed again. I can still remember seeing him sitting on his helment on the sideline. I remember the Monday night game in 1978 with the Dolphins, which still is considered by most the best Monday night game ever, and Earl Campbell put on an incredible show. Thanks Earl for all the great memories.

I remember reading that he raced a horse in a pasture when he was a teenager...and won! It was supposedly a short distance but he was bad ass. His legs were huge too. It is incredibly sad that he is in such pain everyday. He is a good man, and deserves the best life has to offer.
