I don't think 90s was just art school revolution, writing was also like never seen before, Aeon Flux and Spawn were amzaing in every detail. But Its because of cartoons like Batman that started out great (even though I hated the square looks on them) that they let censorship got its way in cartoons so now we got completely predictable Kappa Mikey and Ben 10 squareheads instead of deep Pirates of Dark the Waters or active and dark WildC.A.T.S.

You can blame that on today's aesthetics and design which play rather too big a role in how cartoons are being made. The 90's TV animation scene is often describe as the "Art School Revolution" since many creators often came fresh from such places as CalArts and who left their signature footprint well into their works that otherwise was never felt quite before when many cartoons were produced by non-artistic committee types before.

Right you are you hit it right on the naiil the American Animation scene was a disgrace from 1966 to 1987 Hanna Barbera Filmation and later Ruby Spears (H-B minions) just sat on their asses making crapimation without effort and made mad money off of it .we can thank Michael Eisner and his guys at The Mouse House Matt Groening Klasky- Csuspo,, John Kriscfalusi, Ralph Baskhi,Tom Ruegger and some wise exexuttives at Warner Bros, among others to get animation back in a repectable light

and after Top Cat ended it was shitter all the way down until 1987 when Disney revived itself full force and John K and Ralph Baskhi came on the scene with the All new Mighty mouse and of course Matt Groening's Simpsons came on the scene as a segment of the Tracy Ullman Show in 1987. it was THEN that US Animation on the large scale began to really get its stuff together

This parody of course is meant to mock more of where American TV animation was by 1980, the 70's (as well as the 80's) are often considered the dead period in terms of quality and content. The earlier H-B stuff like Top Cat often were saved by decent writing to make the shows work, but as the 70's rolled on it became rather redundant and mundane. As long as they get a half-hour out a week and stick some cereal ads in, that's all that mattered!

Though this is true in MOST cases, this and a couple other series, even in Comic books, ie. "The Watchmen" do show their origins later on in the series. Usually, in this case, they give the present and then as people and a fan base develops, inquiries come up about the origins, thus making people tune in more. This is a similar thing in films and other forms of adaptations as well, not just comic books

Believe it or not this is the real, genuine, authentic 1st episode. It's logical to think that the first episode would be a prologue of how it all happened but in this plot the creation of spider man is subsequently explained in later episodes which makes it even more interesting to watch them. That's because James Cameron who originlay was planned to direct Spiderman had written a story that involved Sandman so in order not to confuse alot of Kids they took him out. They also mixed the story of Gwen Stacey and Felicia Hardey. Hardey is Black Cat and only Black Cat. Plus it was Gwen and Peter who got cloned by Miles Warren as the Jackel, not MJ and Hydroman, i guess Kaine would have been to scary for the kids

Aside from what Alfred Molina accomplished in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, this has got to be, without a doubt, the greatest portrayal of Doctor Octopus ever to exist outside the medium of comic books.
